I started Escape Road expecting a simple driving game. Get in the car, avoid a few obstacles, and keep going. That was my plan, anyway. The chase became messy much faster than I expected. Police cars followed me through the city, and normal traffic made every turn harder. I could not just drive in a straight line and hope for the best.
What caught my attention was how quickly a safe road could become a trap. I would spot an open lane and steer toward it, only to find another car blocking the way. Sometimes I escaped by making a quick turn. Other times, I hit something because I reacted a second too late. Those mistakes were annoying, but they also made me want to try again.
The controls did not take long to learn. I mainly focused on steering and keeping the car away from traffic. The real challenge was deciding where to go next. Looking only at the police behind me was a bad habit. I needed to watch the road ahead, too. Once I started doing that, my runs became a little longer.
